COURTYARD SCREENING

Courtyard Screening at Toasted are intimate experiences with the moving image. From experimental art videos to short films or documentaries we present a collective engagement that goes beyond watching a movie as we are presenting an evening to share, understand and listen to each other. Films are often a reflection of ourselves, our society at a specific time - from real situations to dreams, utopias or dystopias the moving image tells something about the human condition. More than ever, coming together in a safe space (physical and mental) has been difficult and crucial at the same time. Covid-19 had us retreat to our homes but we are social beings and need our community - this project wants to offer exactly that.

Each month, on a Wednesday evening we present a film at Toasted in Johannesburg and invite people to come, enjoy and exchange.

Curated and run by Nisha, Thati and Palesa.
