"WHERE'S MY PEN' hosted by Red Robyn in partnership with Flatwhite is a writers' hub where fresh songwriters gather to share their music with a listening and engaged audience at Flatwhite on station drive in central Durban. This first of these events will be hosted on Thursday the 11th of November 2021 at 7 pm. Red Robyn will perform an intimate acoustic set followed by a QnA session where audience members will be encouraged to engage with her music on a conversational level. Alexa Haasbroek will also play an opening set making the evening exciting and cosy.
About the songwriters :
Red Robyn excites the alternative music scene as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer - currently based in Durban, South Africa. Red Robyn's music engages a wide variety of context, style and genre from her solo work that can be classified as indie folk-soul to her collaborations that range from house to alt-pop. She is an electric performer with a background in theatre and dance. Red Robyn has her BA Hons in Music from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal where she explored the boundaries of Christian contemporary music and she is currently a Master of Music candidate. While Red Robyn is notably influenced by Indie, RnB and folk-soul, her sound is not one that can be defined as she refers to her
work as; 'a mirror that reflects the times'.

Alexa Haasbroek is a 23-year-old copywriter by day and singer-songwriter by night from Durban. With indie and dream pop influences, her music combines soft melodies and poetic lyrics with a melancholic nostalgia to reflect the world through her eyes, as both an observer and a dreamer.
