ABOUT

Purchasing Patron Tickets is a way to contribute to the production of Museum Night. We have a number of generous supporting partners, but in order to make up the full production budget to pay museum staff for working overtime, performers, service providers, and organisers, we've made a limited number of Patron Tickets available. Although Museum Night is free and open to the public, Patron Tickets allow attendees to have an elevated experience of the programme. Many sites like the Iziko South African National Gallery, Iziko South African Museum, Iziko Slave Lodge and South African Jewish Museum attract long queues on the night. Patron Tickets allow one to skip queues, and therefore enjoy the full Museum Night programme along with scheduled performances, without having to wait in line. Patron Ticket holders also receive a complimentary glass of wine from the Roodeberg VIP wine bar at the Iziko South African National Gallery. 

Patron Ticket holders are to collect their wristbands outside the Iziko South African Museum between 5pm and 9pm on the night. Museum Night runs from 6pm to 10pm. 

Please note that although one is able to skip queues, if a museum is full, one may have to wait for others to exit before being allowed to enter. And although wine for all VIPs and Patron Ticket holders is being catered for, we cannot guarantee that everyone will receive any if the wine runs out later on in the night. This is a complimentary offering. The ability to skip queues does not apply to Planetarium show tickets.
