It's a Saturday evening and we arrive as the sun sets over the serene beauty of this amazing Zeekoevlei home designed and built by CT architect and his partner who runs a clothing label. Doors open from 18h30, so bring a picnic & drinks and come hang on the lawn and shoot the breeze !
Multi-award winning SA icons, Dave Reynolds & Pops Mohamed will open with a performance of their other-worldly acoustic music. Dave plays a 10 string harp guitar, Caribbean steelpans, classical guitar & a Paraguayan harp. Pops plays kora (African harp), kalimba (thumb piano) and khoisan mouth bow.
We then have a screening of SANDANCE! the multi-award winning documentary about the dance and rituals of the San People of Namibia and Botswana, followed by a Q & A with the film maker, Richard Wicksteed. He's been making music about the First People for 25 years and is a real gent. Feel free to ask him about his amazing experiences and challenges in making this film, and throughout his years of relating to these beautiful people.
Dave & Pops will close the evening with a few more tunes ...
