MOODSHIP (aka Gary Thomas) Live at Reunion Yoga & Meditation
Critically- acclaimed musician Moodship will be performing a very special sunset concert in the magnificent glass- roofed, greenhouse space of Reunion Yoga and Meditation. The studio lies deep within the green mountainside and offers beautiful views and highly favourable acoustics.
Originating from Cape Town, South Africa, Moodship (aka Gary Thomas) was Classically trained in school and later studied Music with Jazz performance at the University of Kwa- Zulu Natal. His unique style blends rich, moody song writing with a vast array of alternative guitar techniques and precision multi- tasking.
In conjunction with the countless South African shows and festivals, the last couple of years have included sell out runs at The National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, touring with Ninja Tunes artist Fink in SA, full endorsements from Ernie Ball and Proel and a European Tour in 2012.
Thomas completed his second 30- show European tour through The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Denmark and England between May and July 2016. He won an Ovation Award at the 2018 National Arts Festival in Grahamstown for his series of live solo performances.
Thomas is also an accomplished music and audio producer for film and television. Being a composer for film, documentary, theatre, television is fueled by his effortless ability to improvise and translate the environment around him. This is something that has bled wonderfully into his live performances.
Moodship has released 4 EP’s thus far, out everywhere.
