1. SUMMARY OF EVENT
1.1. OVERVIEW
Fresh Trail’s first Karoo trail run is located literally in the heart of South Africa close to the town of Middelburg. Surrounded by the mountains of the Eastern Karoo, runners will enjoy spectacular views and rugged desert-like terrain which can morph into grassy green hills after a good rain event. The event is hosted on Beskuitfontein farm located on the national N9/N10 route through the Eastern Cape and is the ideal adventure-filled stop-over for travellers on-route to their December holiday destination.
This year will be the 3rd year in a row Fresh at Beskuitfontein Trail Run has taken place, and this year it also forms part of the first Stop Stay & Play in d’ Middel programme which entails a weekend filled with good food and drink, and proudly Karoo products and talent from 10-12 December. The programme includes the Fairfield Festival with food, drink, local products and kids’ entertainment on the beautiful Fairfield Farm, as well as Gin Tasting, Food demonstrations and art classes. 1.2. DATE AND DISTANCES
Online entries open on 1 October via Quicket and closes on Friday, 3 December.
Saturday, 11 Dec. 2021: Night fun-run starts at 20h00, free of charge; Karoo-braai serving dinner at 18h00; Race village offers camping facilities and meals.
Sunday, 12 Dec. 2021: Race day. +-5km Run, +-10km Run, +-20km Run, +-30km Run, Guided 3km kiddies walk. Race village offers food and drinks-stalls with POP UP market from early morning until midday.
A self-guided mountain bike route (+-27km) available on the Saturday and Sunday.

5) Shuttle Service from Johannesburg/Pretoria
The shuttle service includes transport only. Participants need to book their own accommodation and events that form part of the Stop Stay & Play in d’Middel weekend programme. Shuttle leaves Pretoria 09h00 Friday 10 December and return Sunday after prize giving 12h30. Friday, 10 Dec:
· Depart from Johannesburg/Pretoria at 09h00 to arrive in Middelburg late-afternoon. Dropped off at accommodation to unpack.
· Shuttle pick-up at 17h00 to Karoo Skoffel event at Schoombee Country Club, to arrive back at accommodation at 23h00.
Saturday, 11 Dec:
· Shuttle pick-up at 08h30 for picnic breakfast at Karoo Roos padstal.
· Shuttle pick-up at 11h00 for Fairfield Festival (food, drinks, farm products, kids entertainment) on Fairfield Farm.
· Shuttle-pick-up at 17h00 for Fresh at Beskuitfontein Night Run & Karoo Braai, to arrive back at accommodation at 23h00.
Sunday, 12 Dec:
· Shuttle pick-up at various times from 04h00 for Fresh at Beskuitfontein Trail Run on Beskuitfontein farm with pop-up market, food and drinks stalls.
· Shuttle departs back to Johannesburg/Pretoria from Beskuitfontein Village at 12h30, to arrive back in Gauteng at around 19h00.
