The Ploemies is a band that consists of avid South African jazz lovers with the aims of sharing far and wide the music that makes them feel most at home, paying homage to some of South Africa’s most prolific and greatest composers and players. They delve deep into the history of South African jazz bringing you anything from Mbaqanga  to goema to marabi!

The band consists of some of Cape Town’s top musicians namely:

Duncan Johnson on saxophones and vocals,

Shaun Johannes on electric and acoustic bass,

Keno Carelse on drums and

Bradley Prince on guitar.
