Amy Foundation In-Person and Virtual Gala Dinner and Auction Saturday 6th November from 7pm
The Amy Foundation is a non-profit organisation that offers programmes that develop and empower youth, ages 5 – 35 in the Western Cape. The youth live in challenging communities and our three after school programmes based at Siyazingisa Primary in Gugulethu, Mimosa Primary and Bonteheuwel High in Bonteheuwel, provide environments that allow children to overcome shortcomings in their education. By focusing on creativity, the Amy Foundation aims to make learning enjoyable while fostering the drive to academic success. Our Youth Skills Development programme based in Sybrand Park, helps young adults prepare for employment and the world of work.
At these centres which cater for up to 500 youngsters, we offer programmes such as literacy, numeracy, academic support, sport, music, dance, drama, HIV/AIDS awareness as well as Hospitality, Beauty & Wellness, Craft & Design, Soft Skills Training, Woodwork and Handyman and Retail Readiness.
All the programmes are designed to keep the youngsters away from negative influences and turn them into healthy, well-rounded, productive citizens. Our fundamental goal is to provide these youth, who have so little, with a chance at a brighter future.
Our annual fundraising gala dinner and auction will be held at Century City Conference Centre on Saturday 6th November from 19h00. Directed by Aviva Pelham, supported by Roxy Levy and Paul Johnson, they have been working closely with our Arts and Culture children to put on a world-class performance to excite and amaze you.
This is our biggest event of the year and our aim is to raise R750 000 from this event which will assist us in running the programmes for these youngsters.
