The Red Balloon Foundation Donation Page

The Red Balloon Foundation raises funds to help underprivileged special needs children to receive Neurological rehabilitation.

Having a child with brain damage can be a terrifying and dark journey. Even more so for parents who do not have the means to help their child. Through ABM NeuroMovement and Cortical Visual Impairment Interventions the Red Balloon Foundation gives these families hope, helping their children become the best they can be, and coaching the families on how to create a positive environment where their child can learn and thrive.

The Red Balloon Foundation was launched in memory of Maxim Harvie. He was born with a severe infection which caused oxygen deprivation, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at just 10 days old due to severe brain damage. From the moment his parents were told this news they vowed to do everything they could to help him. Raising a child takes a village, this could be no more true for the parents of a special needs child.

Maxim very unexpectedly passed away on 1 September 2016 just one month before his 3rd birthday.

There are thousands of special needs children in South Africa whose parents have no access to any support or therapy. To honour his memory and help as many children as possible get the chance they deserve to beat the odds, we opened the Red Balloon Foundation to raise funds for Neurological Rehabilitation through NeuroMovement…. Because every child deserves a chance!

Every R 20 000 raised will pay for 1 child to receive a full year of ABM NeuroMovement Therapy (40 sessions).
