Clinical Assessments: The Review of Systems (ROS) for ALL Psychology Categories: PS 21/417

This workshop is for all HPCSA registered members of the psychology profession, namely, psychologists, psychometrists, and registered counsellors.

The objective of the workshop is to familiarize practitioners with the Review of Systems (ROS).

Psychologists typically evaluate cognitive, emotional, family, and social factors, but do not do enough to systematically evaluate the physical factors which may contribute to these problems. The ROS, is part of the initial client assessment interview, which enhances the psychologist’s ability to identify potential medical problems for which the client should be referred on to another psychologist, a general practitioner, or medical specialists.

By the end of the workshop, the attending psychology professionals will have learnt what questions to ask clients in order to identify pathology in the eleven body systems, including the respiratory, circulatory, immune, digestive, and nervous system.
