Sound Journey & Yin Yoga to soothe the nervous system
A sound journey led by Roslyn Smit and Yoga led by Nix from Sol Yoga and Wellness Studio
Our intention for the event is to create more space in the mind and to tune into the physical sensations of the body.
The combination of yoga postures that are held for longer periods of time and the sound journey will increase the vagal tone that activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is our state of homeostasis. This has a significant impact on lowering stress levels and anxiety.
Our vagus nerve (longest nerve in the body) is one of the most influential nerves in our parasympathetic nervous system. When we are in a ventral vagal state, we feel relaxed, grounded, joyful, mindful, present with oneself and is where most of the healing in our body takes place.
