THE SECRET MASQUERADE
Step into a world of mystery, fantasy and ambiguity to become part of something extraordinary for one night only. The Secret Masquerade is here to tempt you, flaunt you and entertain you. Lose your inhibitions in an exotic world of extravagant costumes, fire breathers, entertainers, Secret corners and hidden passages, live music, dancing and so much more.
The Secret Masquerade is a charity ball in support of the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre where caregivers focus on the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned, abandoned and endangered animals like rhinos and cheetahs. Our goal is a lofty one -- to raise R25,000 for the organisation but we're confident that through your generous support of The Secret Masquerade and our charity auction, we'll be able to exceed this goal.
The only rule for tonight is that masks are mandatory. We want to see your playful, dark and mysteryious side come out for the evening and watch you strut your stuff and shake what your Mama gave you. (Yes, we went there!) Think bold, bright and vibrant colours like a Venetian Carnival. Think feathers, glitter, and luxurious ball gowns fit for royalty. Or perhaps you want to go a bit more risque. Leather and lace? We’ll leave it to your discretion but we're certainly not going to say no. After all, tonight is all about indulgence.
THE CHARITY
The Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre focused on the care, conservation and rehabilition of rare, endangered or vulnerable animals. One of the Centre's primary focuses is Cheetah Conservation and they have just rescued two beautiful baby rhinos that were orphaned when poachers killed their family. See the rhinos.
This is a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts and we hope yours, too. Our goal of R25,000 is not an arbitrary number; it is the cost of caring for and rehabilitating one baby cheetah for all of 2016. The funds we raise this evening will truly save a life and we think that's pretty damn cool.

A MURDER MYSTERY DINNER AT THE SECRET MASQUERADE
SecretEATS is known for magical dinners in mysterious, Secret venues around South Africa and this dinner is no exception.
We're pulling out all the stops for an absolutely enchanted evening where you, our Secret guests, have the chance to solve a terrible crime spree before the ball begins. It seems that someone has it in for our masked ball guests and you've only got a few hours before The Secret Masquerade begins to solve the crime while an indulging in a simply scrumptious 4-course Secret dinner.
Our Secret dinner is limited to only 40 guests each evening and access is reserved exclusively for our SecretEATS members. If you're not yet a member of SecretEATS, you can Request your Private Invitation.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Our Secret dinner will take place in a different location than The Secret Masquerade but it's right around the corner so you'll be able to walk over once dinner ends.
- Dinner will begin promptly at 19h00 on both evenings and will conclude by 21h30. On Thursday, there is no event following dinner. On Friday, you'll be able to head over to The Secret Masquerade immediately following dinner. Of course, if you'd like to linger a little longer, you're more than welcome.
- You can expect a 4-course meal of gourmet deliciousness. There is an optional wine pairing that can be purchased once your dinner tickets have been secured or you can simply order drinks directly from our cash bar.
- The dinner is a murder mystery themed evening and you will be asked to assume the role of one of our Secret dinner characters. If you would prefer not to participate in such sillyness, we're sad to say it but this probably isn't the evening for you.
- We absolutely can honour most dietary requirements and request a minimum of 72 hours notice before your dinner. Due to the nature of the evening, we are unable to cater for strict Halaal, vegans or anyone banting. That said, if you have a nut allergy, happen to love vegetables more than meat or are one of those "no beef, no pork" people, you're in good company and it's our pleasure to welcome you.
