TEAM IN-SYNC - NEUCHATEL TROPHY 2022 - SWITZERLAND

TEAM IN-SYNC synchronised figure skating team are a mixed age team , consisting of 17 members where our youngest member is 12 and our oldest is 22. They skate out of Northgate rink and are an amazing team.

A brief history, the team was formed in 2019 and have worked really hard to attain many personal bests. Their focus was very definitely to compete at Nationals, where the best of the best in South African figure skating have to qualify and then compete in their various sections.

To our absolute delight, they attained the qualifying score in March 2021 at the Gauteng Inter-Provincials and were the first ever South African mixed age team to compete at this level.

At Nationals, they beat their personal best score and earned the gold medal!

Two weeks after Nationals, we were informed that they had been selected to compete at an international competition! SAFSA (South African Figure Skating Association) put forward a few events and the coach chose, The Santa Claus Cup in Brno in December 2021, unfortunately Omicron variant created worldwide reaction and the organizers decided to cancel the competition. After disappointment of the cancellation of travel and the competition, the team is extremely excited that the coach managed to get entrance into a competition in the winter wonderland of Neuchatel, Switzerland. The Neuchatel Trophy 2022 takes place in February 2022, and the team are working extremely hard at making South Africa proud..

This is a very exciting opportunity for our team ! It is also a very expensive undertaking and as such, we are appealing to corporates and the community for sponsorship or donations to help get us there!
