My Sustainable Life: Food our South African Heritage
Food is one of the ways South Africans celebrate and express our cultures. From Tshisanyama, pap and chakalaka, to melk tert, gatsbies and samoosas, South Africans are passionate about food.
But did you know that food production has the greatest negative impact on the planet - more than any other human activity? Or that one-third of all food produced in South Africa (a total of 10 million tonnes of edible food) is wasted every year!
Our first episode will be hosted by WWF’s Environmental Behaviour Change Lead Pavs Pillay and features guests, renowned chef, author and SASSI Ambassador Jason Whitehead & food activist, private chef and author Mokgadi Itsweng. Pavs, Jason & Mokgadi come together to chat about ways to spring clean our diet, the intrinsic relationship between people, food and nature and how we can use the power on our plate to live more sustainably.
Log on and win
Register and log on to the episode and you stand a chance to WIN a copy of either Jason Whitehead’s “My Lockdown Cookbook” or Mokgadi Itsweng’s “Veggielicious” cookbook.
