Waterfall City Half Marathon - Virtual Run
The Waterfall City Half Marathon is a hybrid race which means it can be run both virtually or any day during August 2021 or from the Waterfall Park by Mall of Africa, on specific set dates in August 2021 (see event details below).
Race Distance and Entry Fees:
The Waterfall City Half Marathon is an inclusive, sociable, and socially conscious race. This is a safe and memorable route, including 3 distances.
- 21km – R130
- 10km – R100
- 5km – R50
Note: Please note that a R5 transactional fee will be added by Quicket.

Run anytime, anywhere within lock-down regulations
Road assisted run
Between 6am and 11am, if starting at Mall of Africa Park on:
- Sunday 1 August 2021 &
- Saturday 07, 14, 21 and 28 August 2021
There will be no official water points but refill stations on the route so please carry your own hydration and do not litter.
Race Timing and Results:
- Runners will have to time themselves using their watches, phones, etc... and submit their results on the "finishtime" website.

Medals and T-shirts can be collected at the following venues:
- Waterfall Park by Mall of Africa on Sunday 1 August 2021 and Saturdays 07, 14, 21 and 28 August 2021 between 5:30am and 11am.
- Asics Shop - Canal Walk Mall - Cape Town (Please carry your proof of registration). Between the 11th and 25th September 2021.
- Promenade South Beach, Durban, on Saturday 11th and 18th September 2021 between 10am and 12pm.
WCAC adheres to strict Covid-19 safety protocols at all its events.
For the participants in attendance on the assisted route, we will be scanning for temperature and sanitize at the start of the run and will be required to wear a buff or face mask at the start and finish of the race.
There will be sanitizers at the water refilling stations.
Although you are free to run any 21.1km, 10km and 5km route we welcome you to challenge yourself on our route. If you choose to run from Mall of Africa;
Please note: No mask/buff, no entry to the premises. Make sure you have printed the map, or have loaded the route on your GPS watch or phone. The route will be discreetly marked, but we expect every runner to follow the correct route outlined. There will be no marshals on the route – practice general pedestrian safety when running or when you cross busy intersections.
Race Support and Facilities:
There will be water refill stations along the route on Sunday 1 August 2021 and all Saturdays in August between 6am and 10am

By entering this event I undertake to be bound by the rules and regulations of the event. I warrant that I am in good health and aware of the risks and dangers of physical nature of this sporting event, and do not claim ignorance of these risks and dangers. I hereby accept that I participate in the event entirely at my own risk and I release Waterfall City Athletics Club, CGA, ASA, all official sponsors and partners, volunteer groups, and any and all local authorities, from any responsibility, liability or costs relating to any injury, loss or damage of whatever nature, however caused, arising directly or indirectly from my participation in the event including pre- and post-race activities.
