Nature Inspired Bookmaking Workshop
NATURE INSPIRED BOOKMAKING WORKSHOP
Saturday the 26th of June 10am - 4pm
Join us for an intensive one-day basic bookmaking workshop led by Cathy, where you will make two of your own creative books or journals. Using foraged flowers, leaves and nature stains, inks and oxides from the indigenous veld, we will embellish some papers with marks and imprints using these found objects. Gain a good understanding and the confidence of how to carry on making a library of books at home using this very versatile method.
Workshop creations include:
- Binding an A6 foundational pamphlet stitch book, with box cardboard covers.
- The second A6 book will include some of the papers you have made, old artworks, recipes, pressed flowers, commercial paper, fabric, anything you might like to include in your book. This one has an option for a firmer cover.
Both books open flat and are perfect for artist sketchbooks and journals.

An open mind and a playful heart! Paper you have made or want to include in the books, reject artworks, wrapping paper, wax paper, tracing paper, photocopies, photographs etc Strips of fabric/ fabric pieces, strong thread you might like to bind with, different colours.
