This year, #WeUprising promises to bring a fun and memorable June 16 experience, that will strictly adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols. Participants are invited to a limited annual commemoration activity; in a form of a scheduled early morning 4km commemoration walk that retraces the steps taken by the ‘76 generation, and a wreath-laying ceremony to honour the fallen heroes at the end of the walk. This will be followed by a wonderful brunch experience at the famous Vilakazi Street in Soweto. This creatively packaged deal includes:
- A fun 4km commemoration walk entry
- A local host for your wellbeing & convenience
- A table reservation in a restaurant at the famous Vilakazi Street which includes a brunch meal & drinks
- Branded T-shirt & Mask
10% of the total revenue will be donated to a local youth empowerment programme.
