Aimée George

La Maison welcomes Aimée George, a contemporary jazz vocalist

and performer based in Cape Town.

Now largely known for her feature on “Pretend” on Langa Mavuso’s

debut album, Aimée recently completed a Masters of Music at the

University of Cape Town, where she explored the intersections and

complexities of gender dynamics for jazz women performers in Cape

Town. This particular performance will include the repertoire

performed as part of her time as a student. These pieces have been

carefully curated to reflect the incredible talent and musicianship of

women composers and performers across the globe. Expect to hear

music from our very own jazz greats such as Nomfundo Xaluva,

Nicky Schrire and Tutu Puaone, amongst other international voices.
