Step-by-Step POPI Compliance for Private Practices

Tue May 25, 17:00 - Tue Jun 15, 17:00

Event is online

ABOUT

All Private Practices must ensure that all forms of processing of personal information must conform to the POPI Act by 1 July 2021. Compliance is however not a one-size-fits-all exercise and many of us have been overwhelmed by the requirements and documents necessary.

Furthermore, all practice owners are information officers by default. INSTOPP is facilitating, under the leadership of Adv Frikkie Marais of Assent Compliance, an 6-part series to guide Private Practitioners in the implementation of the POPI Act in their practice. Making your POPI compliance journey hassle-free and saving you time, all while ensuring that your practice is POPI compliant before the looming deadline.

To relieve the pressure of the required compliance, the course will assist by providing:

 - An informative weekly 6-part series

 - A "to-do" list and templates to complete in between sessions

 - Access to guidance and support during the 6-week series

 - Access to your staff for a session on understanding the POPI Act and the impact it will have on various processes and people in your practice

Starting date: Tuesday 25 May, 17h00 - 18h00 (and every Tuesday thereafter for 6 weeks - same time) - tickets close 24 May @ 16h00

Go on this journey with us and we will assist you to ensure you remain POPI compliant ahead of the deadline.

This interactive session will cover topics like:

-         The lawful processing of personal information

-         Consent to the processing and further processing of personal information

-         Notification when personal information is being collected or has been subject to a breach

-         POPI and the registration process

-         Rights of data subjects

-         Requesting the correction, destruction, or deletion of personal information

-         Relevant policies to implement and so much more

This session is suitable for all Healthcare Providers.

If you have attended the 2020 series, you will qualify for a discount of R350 for every workshop you attended (R900 discount if you attended all 3) – please email [email protected] to get your booking link.
