Africa Communications Week 2021: the South African edition

ABOUT

Africa Communications Week is a is a weeklong series of events simultaneously taking place in 20 countries across Africa and in South Africa, it will take place from 24-28 May 2021.

The theme for the South African edition is: Changing perceptions on Africa: saving lives, saving livelihoods. With a strong focus on how African states can collaborating on storytelling using the power of our heritage to position the continent.

This year's South African edition will be a hybrid of physical events hosted by Freedom Park, Pretoria (an entity of the Department of Arts & Culture) and online sessions.

Africa Communications Week aims to convene communications thought leaders to ensure the most authoritative and comprehensive metrics to assess the role of communications in Africa’s development.

The weeklong activities will provide opportunities to examine how the communications profession can position itself and demonstrate its relevance as a real management discipline that contributes significantly to Africa’s socio-economic rise.
