ABOUT
PAUSE for 60 minutes—sit back and relax whilst enjoying the soothing string sounds of the Quarter2Four string quartet in the peaceful setting of Nazareth House Chapel. Put up your feet, close your eyes and go on a musical meander with Anton Webern’s Langsamer Satz taking the lead. Pause further and enjoy Felix Mendelssohn’s masterful string quartet No. 1, Opus 12. This beautiful ‘musical jewel’ starts off with a smooth intro before setting off on a joyful journey in the uplifting key of E-flat major. The second movement will keep your feet tapping whilst the violins have a cheeky chit-chat with the boisterous cello and viola! The third movement is a rich and romantic interlude before the quartet gets into the spirited finale. The concert starts at 15:00.
