ABOUT

Join Wendy Young and Shirley Erwee, long term homeschooling Moms of 10 children and authors of the popular Footprints on Our Land programmes as they discuss implementing Charlotte Mason’s methods in  your home.

Charlotte Mason was born in England in 1842 and was primarily educated by her parents at home. She became orphaned at sixteen, and decided at a young age to make education her life's work. During her life, she held many educational positions.

What makes Charlotte Mason different from other educators of her time was her sincere love for children, and her concern for their ongoing love of learning. Her methods provide a generous education incorporating the humanities, fine arts and great literature.

Charlotte Mason’s educational philosophy is more valuable today than ever.  Whether you’ve joined us before on one of these encouragement livestreams or not – filling our lives with more of Charlotte Mason’s gentle art of learning can only spur us on to enrich our homeschool journeys.

In this one hour session we will cover:

  1. The basic principles of the personhood of the child
  2. Learning through living books and narration
  3. Using the great outdoors to stimulate your children’s curiosity
  4. How to incorporate art, music and poetry into your week learning plan
  5. Training children in good habits
  6. Mother culture

And we will have time for questions too!
