Nightcap Yin Yoga Class

In this 60 min Yin Yoga sessions you will learn to calm down your Sympathetic Nervous System and to activate “Rest and Restore”, your Parasympathetic Nervous System!  The class is designed to help with sleep and even anxiety.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga is a much slower practice than Yang Yoga.  In my Yin classes you will be holding poses for approximately 1-5 minutes. 


What are the main benefits of Yin Yoga?

1.    Yin Yoga targets hard connective tissues in the body such as joints and joint capsules, bones and ligaments.  

In general, a Yin approach works to promote mobility and flexibility in areas often perceived as non-malleable, especially the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. 

2.    Yin Yoga helps circulate synovial fluid inside your joints in the areas that carry the most tension, especially as you age.  

3.   Yin Yoga calms down the Sympathetic Nervous System. 

4.    Yin Yoga is also known to balance and regulate the flow of life force energy (also known as Chi or Prana) along what is known as the Fascia in Western medicine, Meridian lines in Traditional Chinese Medicine or along the Nadis and Chakras in Eastern Medicine.
