Arts Centre
Help us raise funds to buy a property that will become a home and centre to nature and develop artists form the townships of Cape Town, South Africa. Our targeted GOALS is $100,000
ArtWorks South Africa, is a registered NPO (240-231 NPO)based in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, South Africa. We invest in the Arts as a key role player in developing thriving communities. We currently mentor 20 Artist and have a staff team of 8 volunteers.
We envision a South Africa in which talented performing artists from under-resourced backgrounds have the opportunities and support they need to realize their full personal and artistic pote
We come alongside these aspiring artists, providing personal and career development tools. We create for our artists a sense of belonging , a community of Artists that are nurtured and developed to succeed. Our programs are designed to help artists further develop their talents and turn their passion into a profession. We provide opportunities and platforms for recording, performance, collaboration, training and support for those who wish to go to University to pursue studies in the arts.
One of our biggest challenges at this point is our great need for space. ArtWorks needs a space, a base where we can work from. So far we have been renting a building that is now being sold. Now we have no choice but to looking for a different venue
In search for a venue, We have decided to start a fundraising process to raise funds for the space. The funds raised will go towards us either buying an already existing building and renovate it, or buy land and build on it. On this building we hope to have a music la, office space, performance space and a recording studio amongst many. This a kinda space that we can rent out to other musicians sn grouped too that we can have a bit of income.
Your support will enable us to provide a space where artists can meet, connect, create, record rehears, learn, collaborate, network, dream, receive much needed mentorship and trining to take their careers to the next level
