Getting POPI Compliant by July 2021 (Accredited for 6 Ethics CPD Points)

ABOUT

The Protection of Personal Information Act came into full effect on the 1st of July 2020 which means that all industries (and health care professionals) have until the 30th of June 2021 to become fully compliant with the POPI Act regulations. 

This workshop, accredited for 6 ethics CPD points and hosted by JPCCC and presented by Hope Studio occupational therapist and POPI Compliance Trainer, Meghan Hamman, will empower individuals and organizations to fulfill their duties in terms of the act and to minimize liability.

Who should attend?

According to the POPI Act (Act 4 of 2013), each and every individual that processes personal information is ethically and legally obligated to receive training on the processing of personal information as part of the compliance process. While this is considered the liability of employers within organizations, self-employed individuals are expected to seek this training themselves. 'Getting POPI Compliant by July 2021' is suitable for self-employed individuals, information officers looking to train staff themselves as well as individual staff members from within organizations.

This training is especially pertinent to: all educators, healthcare practitioners and allied professions as well as those delivering services to healthcare practitioners and allied professions, such as IT consultants and technicians, practice management software contractors, accountants and debt collectors.
