PBandJ is not your typical jazz band. It is an upbeat and danceable
jazz combo that offers a unique blend of performance background
and musical ability that is sure to engage the crowd. Their music is
new to some but will be enjoyable for all. PBandJs goal is to provide
a musical experience that you will not get anywhere else. With a
blend of instruments and personalities, they are able to achieve a
magical experience every time.
In existence since 2019, PBandJ is a 4 piece ensemble that features
some of the best musicians in the country. PBandJ writes and
composes its own music, music that puts taps on your toes and
smiles on your faces.
Drummer Lungile Kunene is reserved but seasoned. Having
Played on innumerable stages across the country as well as
internationally alongside the likes of Thandiswa Mazwai.
Timekeeper of the PBandJs collective, selflessly providing his
Resources, his contribution to this movement is highly
appreciated.
Original member of the band Kwani Experience, Gontse
Makhene on percussions, can elevate any groove to
unchartered sonic terrains. A jam without Gontse can be
enjoyable however a jam with Gontse on percussion is
intoxicating and memorable.
Vocalist and guitarist Tubatsi Mpho Moloi draws you in with his
unique voice and sound influenced by blues, jazz and African
folk. His music asks the audience to be open-minded and
exploratory as he brings a collaboration of sound and genre in
creating an authentic fusion folk sound.
Member of The Brother Moves On, bass player Ayanda
Zalekile brings soul the band. You get hypnotized by watching
him play making you enjoy the performance more and never
removing your eyes from the stage. The fun he has on stage is
contagious making the performance more enjoyable and
memorable.
