False Bay Nature Reserve Trail Run on Sunday 11 April 2021

ABOUT

Central Athletics would like to invite you to participate in a fast and flat 8km Trail Run and 4km Fun Run though the magnificent False Bay Nature Reserve Headquarters in Zeekoevlei.

The scenic trail run will take place on Sunday 11 April 2021 in a controlled environment with STRICT COVID 19-PROTOCOLS in place.

Please take note every participant is required to complete a COVID-19 self-screening form.

PLEASE NOTE THAT NO SPECTATORS WILL BE ALLOWED.

Entry for the 8km cost R60 and R30 for the 4km. You also have the option of doing both the 8km and the 4km ie. 12km. You will then have to buy an entry for both which will cost R90. If you choose to do the 8km twice ie.16km, it will cost R120.

ROUTE: There will be no marshalls on the route. However the route will be clearly marked with blue (8km) and red (4km) direction arrows from start to finish. Please note you have to CARRY YOUR OWN WATER as there will be NO WATER SUPPLIED on the route. This is not a road race. It is trail run in a controlled environment.

MEDALS WILL BE AWARDED TO ALL FINISHERS

You will receive you medal after you cross the finish line. There will be no prizegiving.

START TIMES

You will be able to start at anytime between 07:00 to 10:00 am on the day on the race.

There will be controlled rolling starts to ensure runners do not congregate in a large group at the start.

NB if you want to start at 07:00, you need to arrive early enough before then to go through registration! 

COVID-19 SELF-SCREENING

Every entrant is required by the current regulations to complete a Covid-19 self-screening form as well as an indemnity form prior to arrival. 

TEMPERATURE CHECK, DISTANCING & MASKS

Your temperature will be checked. If your temperature is higher than 38ºC you will not be allowed to run.

Please maintain your social distancing during your time at the False Bay Nature Reserve to the best of your ability.

You are not required to wear a mask while you are running, but it is required to be on when you arrive, during registration and right up until you have started the run.

ROLLING STARTS

From 7am to 10am there will be rolling batch starts. When you arrive, you will collect your red sticker (4km) and blue sticker (8km) and proceed to the start area where you will join a limited size batch and enter the start sequence.

So, in other words, come from your car ready to run. NB! You will need to go through registration, to record your attendance so that you can be assigned to your start batch.

Further details will be sent to all entrants in the course of the week leading up to the race.
