Spring Walk for a New Classroom

Sponsor a class team to take part and complete our Spring Walk fundraiser for a new classroom!

Raphaeli Waldorf School is GROWING! Our journey through time began in 2008 when a group of remarkable women joined together with their unique talents and drive to discuss establishing a Waldorf School in Plettenberg Bay. We outgrew several premises throughout the years and an important milestone was achieved in 2014 when Raphaeli was granted developing school status by the South African Federation of Waldorf Schools, making us the first Waldorf School on the Garden Route. In 2016 we were registered as an Independent school and in 2018, thanks to a generous donation, we were able to purchase our own land where we could put down roots - a place where we could create the beautiful school our children deserve.

Now in 2021 we are faced with a different dilemma - our classrooms have become too small! We limit the amount of pupils in our classrooms to maintain a good teacher/student ratio and ensure each pupil gets the attention he/she deserves, but despite this, we have outgrown our humble beginnings.

Every year our students look forward to the ritual and rhythm of our annual fundraising BIG WALK. It is one of our biggest fundraisers and unfortunately we were unable to have it last year due to lockdown restrictions. This is also the first year in which we will be walking on our own beautiful 21 hectare property. Each class team will not only be walking in order to raise funds for a bigger classroom, they will also walk to celebrate the coming of spring and the renewing cycle and power of nature - thus we are calling it our SPRING WALK this year.
