Occupational Therapists working with adults are always faced with Return-to-Work (RTW) challenges - whether the client has a physical or psychological problem. To enable successful RTW you have to provide Vocational Rehabilitation. This service is highly valued by doctors and employers alike as you serve your clients, enabling them to support and provide for their families financially.


DATES:

This interactive workshop can be attended as a full-day once-off workshop or in a weekly series for 4 weeks.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Herculene van Staden has been in private practice for more than 20 years, and has a special interest in Return-to-work rehabilitation. Her extensive knowledge includes performing FCE’s for employers, insurance and medico-legal purposes.


She graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Stellenbosch, and completed her Master’s degree of Advanced Occupational Therapy (Vocational Rehabilitation). With several articles produced and published, she’s also presented her paper on “Return-to-work (RTW) of Patients after Lumbar Surgery” at the 7th Congress of the Occupational Therapy African Regional Group (OTARG) in Livingstone, Zambia. She received CAMAG accreditation with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME) after successful examination of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 6th Edition in 2011. She is ErgoScience and PGAP trained and completed the Essential Pain Management trainer course.
