Ocean Gravity
Tiputa Pass | 2015 | HD | 3:39 min | Directed by Guillaume Néry & Julie Gautier

As the name suggests, we go weightless in the underwater world of wistful weirdness. There is no top. There is no bottom. There is no upside down or inside out. Hell, there ain’t even a Heaven. Down here on the perimeter, there are no stars. Down here, we is stunned immaculate - a human satellite floating in a vast cosmos. Sur et à l’extérieur!

No Country For Cold Men
Iceland | 2015 | HD | 23 min | Directed by Ryan Mattick

All African Premiere

A kneelo, a lid and a standup take a trip to break free of the conflict between their ilk, but is the notion of harmony so steeped in absurdity it will rend the fabric of surf society into scattered fragments? Includes fleeting moments of beauty: a “modern day multi craft pilgrimage exploring the upper echelons of cool. And by cool I mean icy, bone-rattling cold”. Another brrrr film!

Faroes
Iceland | 2015 | HD | 25 min | Directed by Ben Weiland & Chris Burkard

All African Premiere

Lensman Chris Burkard always gets breathtaking footage in vast desolate lands. This surf adventure to the Faroe Islands - a jagged cluster of 18 islands halfway between Norway and Iceland north of the UK - is no exception. Dramatic fjords and mountains form intense backdrops to soulful surfing by Dane Gudauskas, Justin Quintal, and Tyler Warren, among others.

Devocean
World | 2015 | HD | 45 min | Directed by Maka Ramos

South African surfer Bruno spent his life in or on the water, but in 1998, a car accident left him paraplegic. As a laid back but dynamically active surf guide, sailor, scuba diver and traveller, he plumbed the depths of despair. However, a chance wave and the restorative powers of the ocean showed Bruno a new path, one that would be rich, full, diverse and salty. This is his journey back to the ocean.
