Four week nights. Delving into the basics of guitar as we play it in my online group classes. For the last year a group of around 200 guitarists have met from around the world, a few times a day, to play African guitar, polyrhythmic guitar, improvisations and Bach. These guitarists have ranged in ability from absolute beginners to pros. We have used the guitar to meditate ourselves out of COVID torpors, to explore music we love, and to have a wonderful time and make new friends. This four week course will introduce you to the techniques you need to join these classes and feel confident that you have the skills needed to comfortably play along. You will learn to read tablature, play interesting rhythmic bass lines, accompany yourself while you play simple melodies, build improvisations on set patters, build multiple rhythms, and more. Mostly you will learn the joy of taking up a guitar and letting it make a noise for an hour without distraction, doubt or frustration.
The course takes place on the following Wednesdays from 20:00 -21:00
