You’ll learn how to cook easy, delicious and nourishing plant-based dishes that your whole family will love (even the meat-lovers). About Chef Jay Mac:


Jason McNamara is a local vegan advocate and chef who founded The Kind Kitchen. Jay gained his skills in vegan culinary arts at The Natural Epicurean Academy of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas. To accommodate the growing demand for his vegan food, Jay crowd-funded his first café and deli in mid-2018.



Menu for the day:


Starter Meal- Butternut balls with beetroot hummus



  • 1x Pack Fry's Butternut Balls
  • 1 can chickpeas
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • 1 large clove garlic
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup Tahini
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika powder
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh beetroot, chopped (+-2 bulbs)



Main Meal - Mac n Cheese with Mediterranean sausages



  • 1x Pack Frys Mediterranean Sausages
  • 500g Macaroni pasta
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 500g butternut, chopped
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 10g fresh mixed Italian herbs i.e., parsley, basil and thyme, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 lemon
  • 200g vegan cheddar/mozzarella, grated
  • 2 cups veg stock
  • Salt and pepper


Equipment needed: A blender

Please ensure you have all the ingredients prepared, diced, etc before the session starts.
