About

The third edition of Rogue magazine is being created under the theme Listen, with the goal of amplifying female voices in addressing the epidemic of gender-based violence that has a grip on South Africa.

In recent conversations we are learning that violence occurs in many forms. Although the realities of gender-based violence affects us all in different ways, a good place to start addressing these issues is to create a space where individuals feel that they are safe to speak up and to let them be heard. To Listen, and then to act.

This issue of Rogue will encompass all of these factors, by creating a space, listening, and acting. Volume 3 brings together a diverse group of female creatives to voice their opinions, experiences, and views on the gender dynamics of our country in their own unique ways. This edition will also be created in partnership with the TEARS foundation, an organisation that dedicates their time to fighting gender-based violence in our country, aiding victims and protecting women and children. With the help of our other partner the META Foundation we have organised this launch/fundraiser where the magazines can be viewed and bought, artworks will be exhibited and up for sale, with opportunities to talk to the artists themselves. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the TEARS Foundation.

All precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of everyone attending in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. No entry will be permitted without a mask and hand sanitiser will be provided at the door and throughout the venue. To ensure social distancing, we will be staggering attendance in 2 hour intervals, allowing 20 people in per time slot.

Welcome drinks will be offered on arrival. We look forward to celebrating with you!
