ABOUT
NCT’s outdoor Imagination Theatre comes alive in March to the sound of Sergei Prokofiev’s symphonic fairy tale for children, directed by NCT’s resident Artistic Director, Daniel Geddes.
This exciting new take on the beloved score and story will excite the imagination and bring the beloved characters and music to life in a new way. Three teenagers stumble upon Prokofiev’s classic, and begin to explore its pages – with surprising results. They must retell the story, or their poor new friend, the Conductor, will be lost to its pages forever.
The original tale helped children learn the different parts of the orchestra as well as experience themes and motifs in music in a fun and engaging way. Staying true to the score and the original story, this adaptation is no different.
With an exciting young cast, featuring Sandi Dlangalala and Harry Faulkner (both recently seen in NCT’s Fantastic Mr Fox), and Ashleigh Butcher, and newcomer to NCT Abby Molz, and set by Thomas Needham, instruments by Charel Bezuidenhout, music by Sergei Prokofiev arranged and programmed by Wessel Odendaal, featuring Danielle Wynter on the violin, this promises to be an adventure that will live on in children’s minds and hearts, long after the final bow is taken.
This production is a must-see treat for the whole family and is suitable for children aged 3 upwards.
Remember to bring your sun hat, picnic basket, picnic blanket and camping chair and relax on our lovely lawns.

Tickets are non refundable - Should it rain (and one never knows in advance!) ticket holders can book for another show.
Rain Policy - NCT will advise the audience 30 minutes before the performance if the show is to be cancelled due to bad weather conditions.
"Tuck Shop Cart" - We have built a beautiful cart that sells a few "tuck shop items" to nibble on during the show as well as a refreshing juice/water.
Parking - Free and secure covered parking is available in our new parking area.
Arrival Time - Doors open 1 hour before the show.
