On the 25th of April 2016 The theme camp "Pedals for Peace" will open its bicycle initiative at AfrikaBurn 2016. This initiative is aimed at allowing Burners the opportunity to pre purchase a brand new entry level single speed commuter bicycle, which will be delivered to Tankwa Town for collection from the camp from the 25th of April. This will allow Burners the ease of having a bicycle to use at the burn without the hassle of having to transport it there. All bikes bought through the project will be gifted service during their time in Tankwa Town should they experience any difficultiesIt is hoped that most of the bikes bought through the initiative will be gifted back to the Pedals for Peace camp at the end of the burn. We will then arrange for these bikes to be distributed into cycling developement initiatives in the greater Tankwa district after the Burn.
These bikes will cost R1290.00 each delivered and assembled at the Pedals for Peace Theme Camp on 6ish Plaza.
WE HAVE SECURED AN ADDITIONAL 20 BIKES THAT WILL BE AVAILABLE AT A COST OF R1500.00 DELIVERED TO TANKWA
As a result of the success of the project this past year we have decided to increase the number of bikes we are making available to 145
