ABOUT

‘IT’S A PARTY FOR ALLSORTS’

Cupcakes, pudding and sweeties, it’s a chocolate decadence that will hit Cape Town on Saturday 19th December as MCQP’s party theme was launched as “Candyland” at a glittering Halloween event in the city last night.

MCQP is celebrating its twenty-second birthday with an all-things-sweet theme at the East City Precinct of Harrington street in December.

Gingerbreadman Director, Ian McMahon, says the team is ready to “lay the icing on thick” for this very special occasion. “This year, we wanted to go back to memories from our youth, with bright colours, sweets, chocolates and all things sweet - all things nice as we whisk you away to a fantasy land of sugar delights” expect Turkish Delights, suckers, ice lollies and your fair share of sweetie pies at the event” he said “I’m sure you're set to see some real eye candy”

Visitors can expect a night of bliss, with candy cane décor and bright decadent costumes. With 8 music areas laid out across the space including Assembly, Dragon Room and other venues in the street - each with its own theme and music style. With the Table Mountain as the backdrop, partygoers can get dipped in the delights of 110 local and international DJ’s, artists and performers.

The theme was announced last night to a jam-packed crowd at MCQP’s Halloween costume event outside Crew Bar to gasps of oh-la-la and lip licking – whilst the crowd delighted themselves in their Halloween tricks and treats.

Performer Lilly Slapped Silly launched the theme at pumpkin hour to a packed crowd! Lilly, who will be one of the emcees and will have her candy cane at hand in December doesn’t need any introduction to Cape Town having been part of the infamous Mince duo for many years.

She’ll be joined by several acts like Dean Fuel, Jamie Saint, DJ Chadd, VJ Karl, DJ Cambis coming out from Germany for MCQP, as well as Stuart Hillary of Jozi’s historic Therapy club fame. Cape Town’s 80’s guru Sam Roy, the local due Legendairy and many more artists, singers and performers will take their stages  in what has become an iconic Cape Town event. The gates open at 5pm, and there will be food offerings, stalls and many more cherries on the top. Partygoers will also be spoilt with choice when it comes to quenching their thirsts and satisfying their hunger, before taking to the live bandstand stage, Disco, EDM, House, Cabaret, Trance, Diskotekah, Crew’s Commercial floor and Ladies only dance floors.
