Private Practice can be very daunting for many new Graduates and even for experienced Occupational Therapists who consider a career change. While the thought of venturing into Private Practice can be exciting, it can also be quite overwhelming. But the good news is, you are not alone. INSTOPP is here to help you along your journey and equip you with the right information to start your Private Practice the right way!

Before taking the leap, it’s important to ask yourself the right questions:

·        Do you know what the requirements are to start a Private Practice?

·        What legislation affects you?

·        How does the billing works?

·        Which business entity you want to practice within?

These are just a few things that you will encounter when starting out in Private Practice. At University you are taught the skills you require to “do” OT; however, it doesn’t prepare you for the reality of starting a Private Practice.

If you have specific questions about your future or current practice - join INSTOPP's Private Practice School and Mentorship Programme. It is aimed at empowering OT’s to thrive in Private Practice in a doable, step-by-step way. The course has 12 modules and runs for 12 weeks, to enable you to develop your practice management skills, while you handle a full-time practice or job.

12 Modules over 12 weeks - Weekly sessions starting Thursday 25 February 2021 (and every Thursday thereafter but with a break for Easter weekend)

This session for Occupational Therapists will cover topics like:

-         Setting up your Private Practice & Business models

-         Minimum standards

-         Administration of a Private Practice

-         Record-keeping

-         Legislative requirements

-         Handling difficult situations

-         Financial Management

-         Billing

-         Marketing your services

-         Tax

-         Employment of staff and so much more
