Dangerfields began 2020 with big plans of local and international tours to support their recently released album, Echoes & Pulses. After successful performances in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria, their tour was cut short due to the pandemic. While unable to play live, the band shifted their focus towards working on new material, recording and sending ideas back and forth throughout quarantine. This will be the band’s first performance since their January tour, and it will see them putting on a show which spans all of their existing releases as well as previously unheard new songs, guest artists, alternative renditions and other surprises.
Joining Dangerfields will be alternative folk singer-songwriter Chantel Van T. Rising to prominence in the South African music industry as the front-woman of Diamond Thug, Chantel Van T has quickly become one of the most streamed South African voices. 2020 saw the release of her highly evocative solo album ‘Nicalochan’ which is unlike any other body of work she has created. This album is a mature, honest creation that is neither overthought nor over-produced. It is an untampered-with creation from an artist with a fervent intention to make the listener feel- be it to haunt or to uplift.
Masks will be essential to gain entry and tickets are very limited in order to enforce appropriate social distancing.
The event will also be live streamed in HD on Facebook and at www.dangerfieldsband.com for those who would prefer to watch from the safety of their own homes. The live stream will be free, with donations encouraged.
This concert is proudly brought to you by Concerts SA (http://concertssa.co.za) and the SAMRO Foundation (www.samrofoundation.org.za)
