Thanks Giving Month With Brother M

Closing the year 2020 on a grounded-feeling would be a welcome thing for anybody in the world right now. Brother M is sharing grounding music performances, engaging live conversations and heart felt collaborations during the year end and beginning of 2021. Brother M, real name Mapumba Cilombo, is a singer and songwriter based in Cape Town. His music is rooted in folk melodies and rhythms and includes

some experimentation in urban genres.

His inspirations come from traditional textures of his native roots, the Baluba cultures of the DRC. He also draws from Afropop and some international music genres.

Coming out of lockdown with his latest album called Grounded is Brother M's true celebration right now. This album shines the joys of his musical journey, a path that has been tested by time and diversity.   

Brother M was born in the democratic Republic of Congo. He was groomed in Zambia and he blossomed in South Africa.
