Lionel Bastos is a multiple SAMA award nominee and SAMA award winner. He is about to release his 6th album. He has written songs for and/or produced albums for some of the top names in South Africa like Yvonne Chaka-Chaka, Wendy Oldfield, PJ Powers, Little Sister, Vicky Sampson, Auriol Hays, Tshepo Tsola, Ed Jordan & James Stewart to name a few.
He wrote the longest running DSTV as song, More. He's written a film score for a local film called "Konfetti " which won awards internationally and locally. He has performed on every continent and in his own right has been the opening act for The Bee Gees, Tina Turner and Wet Wet Wet. He does a variety of songs in different languages and sometimes includes unique arrangements of covers and has often teamed up with artists like Wendy Oldfield, Tim Parr, Jamie Jupiter, Auriol Hays and others.
