AFRICAN GAMES PUBLISHERS & MOBILIZING AFRICAN GAMES

This panel is part of the extended programming of the exhibition PEOPLE OF PLAY: African Game Developers, curated by Vic Bassey.

The notion of a truly African publisher felt like a pipe dream five years ago. However with the definition of a publisher becoming a lot more fluid and the emergence of new actors within the gaming space, a discussion on what constitutes a publisher is warranted. Furthermore, what avenues currently exist to make the monetization of content in the gaming space easier and possible for their creators.
