Practice Walk series

ABOUT

The aim of the practice walks is twofold: to familiarise L2L walkers with the terrain and prepare for the walk in 2021 where family and friends are also able to join in when buying tickets; and, to raise awareness of the charity work being done by L2L in the Overstrand.

The dates are as follows:

• Sunday, 18 October 2020 – Fernkloof (22km)

Start at The Beanery, Gateway, Hermanus at 7:00

• Sunday, 15 November 2020 – Grootbos Fynbos trail (20km)

Meet at 7:00 at Grotto parking area

• Sunday, 6 December 2020 – Sopie’s Klip (10km)

Start at Grotto at 7:00

• Sunday, 17 January 2021 – Betty’s Bay (22km)

Start at Otter Close beach entrance at 7:00 or meet at OK Onrus at 6:00 to get a lift to the starting point

About

Lighthouse2Lighthouse ladies' (NPO 169-860) is a non-profit organisation focused on raising funds for charities in the Overstrand community. We have raised just over R5million since 2006 and, in doing so, helped more than 20 charities in our community. The 120 ladies that walked in March 2020 were able to raise funds for the main beneficiary The Butterfly Centre (R800 000). Money was also raised for the secondary beneficiary 2020, Overstrand Hospice (R100 000) during the Official Practice Walks. An additional R65 000 was also donated to a variety of different charities including Santa Shoebox, Food4Love Hermanus, BARC Cattery and Huis Lettie Theron.
