Meeting point & Time: Grotto beach parking at 5h30. Access to Grootbos restricted and only the organised bus will be allowed entry.Transport by bus.

Please note that only registered walkers for the Grootbos hike will be able to join us on this route as numbers are limited.

Part of this beautiful route will go through Flower Valley Conservation Trust (Grootbos' neighbours and friends), who's team is thrilled to make this part of the route available for the practice walk. Usually, this route would only be available to people who have booked to go on the Fynbos Trail, are guests of the Grootbos Lodge, or are day visitors to Flower Valley Conservation Trust.

Grootbos and Flower Valley are hugely excited to share the beauty of the fynbos and the landscape with us and we are excited to add this to our practice walks. Both organisations are NPCs who also contribute to community upliftment and conservation in the Overstrand, like Lighthouse does

Ladies (&Gents) travelling from Hermanus may want to share transport, meeting at Grotto Beach Parking lot at 05:30.

About

Lighthouse2Lighthouse ladies' (NPO 169-860) is a non-profit organisation focused on raising funds for charities in the Overstrand community. We have raised just over R5million since 2006 and, in doing so, helped more than 20 charities in our community. The 120 ladies that walked in March 2020 were able to raise funds for the main beneficiary The Butterfly Centre (R800 000). Money was also raised for the secondary beneficiary 2020, Overstrand Hospice (R100 000) during the Official Practice Walks. An additional R65 000 was also donated to a variety of different charities including Santa Shoebox, Food4Love Hermanus, BARC Cattery and Huis Lettie Theron.

Hermanus Child and Family Services is the main beneficiary for 2021. Overstrand Hospice is the secondary beneficiary for 2021. Each practice walk will also raise funds for the remaining 11 charities that applied for funding during 2021.

L2L Virtual Walks

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone - especially the non-profit and charity organisations in the Overstrand. To this end, L2L has introduced the Virtual Practice Walk Series (VPW) to raise additional funds so that money can be raised for all the applicants for 2021.
