This workshop will give a broad overview of the HPCSA’s core ethical values, their role in establishing duties and the steps to ethical decision making. The second part of the workshop will focus on malpractice, HPCSA reporting and the relationship between the two. The workshop will have a strong focus on case discussions


This workshop is hosted by Ethics Simplified, and presented by the founder of Ethics Simplified, Annelie van der Westhuyzen.

Annelie is a speech therapist with a MSc in Bioethics and Health Law. She founded Ethics Simplified in 2011 after identifying the need for practical guidance on ethical dilemmas experienced in the both the public and private sector. She currently presents workshops on various issues relating to bioethics and health law. In 2019 she started producing online content for the Calabash platform.

Furthermore, Annelie is a part time clinical supervisor and lecturer at Stellenbosch University. She lives in Cape Town with her husband and two boys.
