Are you a health professional looking to learn more about how to implement nutrition as a therapeutic tool? This free webinar is open to all medical and allied health students, all health professionals and those interested in an evidence-based approach to considering the impact of nutrition on global health.


With the experience of COVID-19 pandemic, there is a collective increased concern for global health. While the virus was rapidly travelling across borders, many individuals were questioning what the most effective methods are to staying healthy. Eating a nutrient rich diet is essential for the defence systems in the body, and has been proven to manage and reverse chronic diseases. PAN-SA aims to raise awareness among health professionals, the general public and policymakers about the role of whole food, plant-based nutrition in promoting good health and preventing and treating disease.


The panelists will each give a brief presentation, with plenty of time for Q&A. This webinar is brought to you from a collaboration between Physicians Association for Nutrition International (PAN-Int), PAN-SA, Public Health Association South Africa (PHASA), South African Medical Research Association (SAMRC), and North West University (NWU) and will be attended by honorary guest, Tlaleng Mofokeng, South African medical doctor and a women's rights and sexual and reproductive health rights activist appointed as UN Special Rapporteur.

Professor Andrew Robinson, Chairman & Co-Founder of PAN-SA, Deputy Dean and Extraordinary Professor in the North West University Health Science Faculty.


Who is PAN International and what do they do?

Dr Niklas Oppenrieder, Medical Director of PAN-Int, physician specializing in paediatrics at Aschaffenburg Hospital in Germany.


What is the role of a whole food plant-based diet in clinical practice?

Dr Yesheen Singh, Co-founder of PAN-SA, MBChB, MBA, is a plant-based physician based in Cape Town, South Africa. He has extensive experience in private and public health systems in SA and the UK and has additional post-graduate education and training in Functional Medicine, Public Health and Health System Engineering.


How do we balance a whole food plant-based plate of food?

Jessica Kotlowitz, registered Dietitian with Masters degree in Nutrition (Stell. University) Jessica has a private practice in Cape Town which focuses on plant-based nutrition.
