For the duration of the morning we will guide you through four different yoga & meditation practices designed to carry you to deep levels of relaxation where true rest & healing can be achieved.
10:300 – 11:45: Hatha Yoga Practice. Slow & gentle sequence, prescribed by Sivananda suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners. The focus here is not on achieving the full expression of the yoga poses but rather to use them to relieve tension & discomfort from the body and to connect to the deeper layers of the self.
11:45 – 12:15: Pranayama. These are breathing techniques as outlined by BKS Iyengar, to focus the mind, balance the energy body, & work into the knots of anxiety, hypertension & depression that are present in the body. This is a fantastic bridging process for anyone who feels their mind is too busy to achieve silence. Instead of asking the mind to quieten, we give it a tool that inspires a state of peace.
12:15 – 12:30 A little break – get some sun – practice some grounding – have a cup of tea and a biscuit – or remain on your mat – whatever works for you:)
12:30 -13:00: Meditation practice: We will use various tools as outlined by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, to help take the mind into its natural quietened states. In this state we are able to enjoy deep levels of peace, and when meditation is achieved, the deep layers of stress are released to leave you feeling fresher.
13:00 – 13:30: Yoga Nidra – Otherwise known as yogic sleep. This is a guided state of deep rest which is equivalent to 4 hours of sleep. After this practice you should feel completely rested & rejuvenated.
