Couch Concerts presents Student Concerts - Liam Slabbert

ABOUT

Student Concerts is an initiative to provide a performance platform to talented up-and-coming musicians - even amidst a global pandemic!

Liam Slabbert is one such student, currently studying under Carin Bam, sub-principal oboist of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra and Scottish-born bassoonist Sarah Burnett (Basson Professor, Royal College of Music, London). Aside from being the category prize-winner of a host of Eisteddfod's, Liam has featured as a soloist at a number of Concerto Festivals, is the principal bassoonist for CPYO and even began working with CPO as an ad-hoc player in 2019. An immensely talented young man, his programme consists of some impressive pieces to match - you can look forward to works by Elgar, Pierné, Sukhanek and Vivaldi. We hope you tune in to enjoy one of Cape Town's finest young musicians.
