The Event Industry Summit aims to unite event industry stakeholders and qualified corporate buyers and provide a platform for industry-related topics to be discussed by the leaders in the industry, ultimately growing the power of the event industry.

The Summit will grow buyer’s knowledge base by fully informing them of the current state of the event industry as well as promote ongoing interaction between industry buyers and sellers. Delegates can expect many informative discussion panels with industry experts on a wide range of industry topics.

There will be three sessions with each session having a brief scene-setter followed by a panel discussion led by a seasoned facilitator.

The sessions will include the major challenges faced by the industry such as:

  • MICE venue challenges: With and without accommodation links
  • Independent planners: Full service, broker and agent
  • Salaried buyers (end-users): External supplier/service selections and internal systems

Invited session panelists together with potential participants, who have expressed great interest in being involved in the second EIS, will provide their perspectives from the various briefs provided.

“The Event Industry Summit programme is such an undertaking. A bird’s eye view of programme progress to date is likely to generate much interest and indeed early bookings.

“Invited session panelists together with potential participants, who have expressed great interest in being involved in the second EIS, will provide their perspectives from the various briefs provided,” says MICE Academy‘s Helen Brewer.

MICE Academy
MICE is the collective acronym for people gathering.  Each initial of the acronym is the most prominent within the multitude of differing types of gatherings.  Yet all MICE undertakings have one aspect in common.  MICE encounters are always human beings interacting (1) face-to-face (2) presenter-to-delegation (3) individuals-to-experiences (4) visitors-to-exhibits (5) audience-to-entertainment.  A less instantaneous form of MICE can be tele- or video conferencing yet the direct eye-ball-to-eye-ball contact of immediacy is unlikely to be as effective.  Technology indeed has its place in the vital MICE communication world.  Replacing MICE is however not foreseen – as the many reasons for a MICE gathering are not easily replaced.
