Maker Library: WorkSpace – Printing Cultures
Pinde Sandlana explores making as a means to document cultural narratives and as an exploration of transferring the significance of everyday objects. The Maker Library Workspace resident is a trained upholsterer, and the daughter of a sangoma. She’s embarked on a journey to record instruments and objects through photography, digital pattern making and printing.

Pinde will share her process over 2 days with workshop participants, inviting them to make the stories of our times.

Please only register if you are able to attend both sessions. Dress for a mess!

I/ZA @Ithuba, Ithuba Arts Gallery - 100 Juta Street, ENTRANCE on Biccard Street.

Maker Library Network (MLN) connects designers and makers around the world.  Combining reading, showing and making, this new type of creative space encourages local and international knowledge sharing. Each Maker Library contains three key elements of a library, a make-space and a gallery, and is connected to the network via an online platform for sharing skills and resources.

This project is supported by SA-UK Seasons 2014 & 2015, a partnership between the Department of Arts and Culture, South Africa and the British Council.
