Knowing your numbers, when starting or operating a successful business (big or small) is important. This workshop helps SMEs tackle finance, funding, business strategy, pivoting & scaling their operations. 

Some questions founders and executives commonly ask include:

· Are Banks and VCs the only option to raise money?

· If “I do not have a lot of money” can I still start a Business?

· What should my personal financial position be before I consider starting a Business?

· What financial numbers must I know when managing my Business?

· Should you always take money that is offered to you?


Moolah Matters: Financing African SMEs is a panel session with 3 entrepreneurs from South Africa and Ghana.



  1. Lesego Serolong Holzapfel is CEO and founder, Bokamoso Impact Investments. She is a 2019 Tutu Fellow. She was listed Mail & Guardian 200 South Africans. Standard Bank Top Woman of the Year & Received the Trail Blazer Presidential Award.
  2. Itumeleng Moagi trained with the Meltwater School of Entrepreneurship (MEST) in Ghana, West Africa. She graduated in IT Programming in 2007 and proceeded to work as a Media Analyst, she assumed multiple leadership roles in the industry. In 2012 she co-founded and assumed the role of a managing director at her Media Monitoring agency which she successfully ran for 5 years. She is Co-founder of Growth Factor Technologies.
  3. Stallone Siakam was born in Burundi, raised in Cameroon, and matured in South Africa, a true Pan-African. He is Product Manager at a Telecoms company and the Co-Founder of Achetes Online. AO is an online marketplace where suppliers can sell their goods and consumers can purchase them online.

2. Key money management lessons for ensuring business continuity.
